10 Rules to Business Resilience

I'm pleased to share an article in The Risk Universe, a specialist risk publication, on what it takes to ensure a resilient organisation. This is especially in the context of the London Olympics, where organisations are looking for the agility to cope with both flexible working requirements and business continuity.

Here's the article: http://www.resilientplc.com/news/docs/theriskuniverse-p3031.pdf

My colleague Andrew Bale makes the point that resilience and organisational agility go hand in hand. The more agilie and organisation is in their ability to flex or respond to unforeseen business events, then the greater the resilience they inherently have.  This is contrary to standard . disaster-recovery thinking which places an emphasis of recovering from an unforeseen event....with true resilience the business will be able to withstand any type of potential disruptive event without having any impact on the day-to-day operations of the business.
